Personal development
An important aspect of
a Cutting Edge course, is the opportunity to get to know yourself
better - if you dare. The close atmosphere which is created on
board gives one a unique chance to focus on the other members
of the team and to come into focus for them. This means you will
be forced to acknowledge and expose aspects of yourself which
are not always apparent in your working environment. This does
not always come easy. But, to cut to the bone; nothing ventured,
nothing gained.
An essential part of personal development is to face up to how
you cope with the situations which arise on board. There is a
big differnce between beating against the wind and running with
it. But by being straight with yourself, it is possible to turn
tough personal experiences into rewarding situations where the
support of others triggers welbeing and resolve. Being in a personal
development process means coming to terms with honesty as a catalyst,
giving support and the ability to move mountains in the face
of adversity.
Co-operation
Cutting Edge is able
to focus on the main objective," co-operation" and
to help implement this in your team. This is done through sailing,
an activity dependent on successful teamwork. The programme is
tough as it is both physically and psychologically demanding.
This is not a sailing "jolly", but a unique oportunity
for your team to get to know each other and to function better
in the future. Once onboard, we are in out own world, with no
outside distractions. Wind and weather along with the isolation
expose the good along with the bad! You have to deal with the
challenges as they arise, support and take charge where needed.
No mercy!
The boat
What is the scene? A
48 foot sailing machine with cruising comfort, X-Yacht 482, equipped
with foul weather gear, harnesses and safety lines of the best
quality. The accomodation comprises a large main saloon with
adjoining galley, capable of supporting the creative urges of
crewmembers, both at sea or at anchor in beautiful Norwgian bays.
A "total experience"!
WayNorth gives you the opportunity
to sail the NorWay.
Please excuse the cliché.
Imagine sailing in the famous fjords of western Norway. But this
is not the only spectacular scenery Norway has to offer. The
south coast has countless islands. Sailing here is often in sheltered
waters, with the chance to test your chart reading capabilities
and enough rocks to keep you on your toes! Water temperature
is kept near Mediteanian levels by the Gulf Stream. Anchoring
is not always necessary, as in the non tidal waters of the Skagerak
it is often possible to lie alongside the natural shoreline.
Sail from the same sheltered bays used by the Vikings. Experience
the backdrop of majestic mountains. Visit quaint, waterside villages.
Stretch your legs up a mountain or a glacier. Enjoy getting one
step closer to nature!
